Shit, the opera ain't that bad

Hello bloggers. Sorry I didn't have time to post anything yesterday, I was sooo busy. Let me tell you about yesterday, which was quite fun.

Mmkay, so school was same old, same old.

Then I had an orthodontist appointment in which various tools were stuck in my mouth to make myself look as unattractive as possible, while they took pictures of my teeth. Oh, I am so getting a modeling contract with those. Not. I'd never really realized how awkward going to the dentist is. Various people stick their fingers in your mouth as you gag and attempt at small talk. And when talking with tools in your mouth fails, there is absolutely nothing to do. I count the ceiling tiles... And when they are peering down into your mouth, I don't know how much eye contact to give. Do you look into their eyes? No, that'd be creepy. Do you look off into the distance? That is what I do. Although the dentist's son who is also his assistant has really beautiful, gray eyes. Just saying... I want gray eyes. Wouldn't that be cool? So yeah, I'm almost done going there. Thank goodness...

Then our whole grade went to the opera in the evening. It was a mandatory event and I glared at all the people who said that they thought going to the opera was stupid and they were going to get out of it. At our school we get so many opportunities, and especially free, awesome opportunities, everyone should take. Going to the opera was like our school handing each of us 100 dollars. Don't complain.

So actually, let me confess. I thought I was sort of going to hate the opera. I get distracted extremely easily and have a low attention span, so I thought this event wasn't going to be for me. But I was surprised, I really actually enjoyed it. The opera was La Traviata and it was in Italian with a little screen above the stage with English subtitles. Thank god. It was like watching a soap opera except they sang in that amazing opera singing way. La Traviata is the same story as Moulin Rouge, so I already knew that Violetta was going to die in the end (Sorry, that was a spoiler alert). The first act reminded me a bit of Hannah Montana because of the English subtitles. I am sure in Italian, the dialogue and lyrics are much more beautiful but in English the first 20 minutes or so sounded like this,

"Life is a party and all I want is pleasure, pleasure, pleasure. Let's drink and have a party." Okay, okay. Maybe those aren't Hannah Montana lyrics, but they made me giggle. Because I'm so mature. But anyway, I've decided that I am going to join Opera Club and start going to the Opera more regularly. How could Aviva become MORE worldly? Oh, she can, she can. :-)

So right now, as I try to make myself forget about my large pile of homework, it is nice to have a blog where I can gather all my thoughts. As I continue to write everydayish, it becomes easier and easier for me to think of what to write. It's sort of like some sort of therapy session. I really really like writing. I hope you followers are enjoying reading as well...

Side-note: As I was about to click publish post, I spilled some tomato sauce all over my shirt. Oh, I a clumsy one.

I should probably stop though, that pile of homework isn't going to vanish. I wish.

Oh and shout-out to: Sammy! Oh, I hope I'm in yoga too!

Everyone have a lovely evening.

You know it's a palindrome kind of world.
